Walk and Talk Therapy or Life Coaching
What is Walk and Talk Therapy?
Walk and Talk Therapy is a unique practice that combines traditional talk therapy with the physical exercise of walking. The therapy session is held outdoors as the therapist and client walk and talk together strengthening the connection between mind and body.
Who would benefit from Walk and Talk Therapy?
Anyone experiencing:
– Anxiety-exercise can reduce stress and anxiety
– Depression-positive “feel good” endorphins are released
– Trouble sitting still and would rather be moving.
– That feeling of being “stuck” and are needing a fresh perspective.
– Overwhelming feelings and/or do not know where to begin.
– Moms with babies who need fresh air and to move their stroller
– Grief and Loss
There are some key reasons why walk therapy works:
– Physical and mental health benefits can be obtained from being more physically active.
– When dealing with difficult issues, it helps a client get free from them.
– Through physical activity and positive chemicals in the brain called endorphins, it spurs creative, deeper thinking.
– In both figurative and literal terms, Movement propels people forward.
– Walking also promotes and maintains mental health by stimulating both sides of the brain.
How does it Work?
In the first meeting, you will meet your therapist or life coach at their office. After that, sessions will be outdoors in a safe, public space, usually on a track or trail.
What if I don’t want to Walk and Talk every session? Or what if I find that I don’t really like it?
You can always take the session back to the office. You can choose to go outdoors or stay indoors. The choice is up to you.

What about Confidentiality?
In a Walk and Talk session, confidentiality will be protected to the greatest extent possible since it is an essential part of the therapeutic process. However, the therapist or life coach cannot guarantee that someone will not overhear your conversation. If we happen to notice someone either of you know, the route and conversation can be changed as necessary. Clients will not be introduced to one another.
Home Based Therapy

Teletherapy or Online Sessions
Online counseling or teletherapy is counseling conducted over the internetvia a HIPAA-secure connection. This allows for privacy and confidentiality. Secure internet service and a smartphone, tablet, or computer are required for the services to be provided. You can schedule your counseling or life coach session when it is convenient for you, at your home or during lunch. It is recommended that you avoid the use of public WiFi and be certain that you have privacy. Our therapists comply with all applicable state laws regarding telemedicine.
